He is of Collins' ranch. The Mercury has a confusing statement about him on June 21st, 1878, stating "Mart. Updegraff, he of Collins' ranche, smileth and says it's a boy. The heir of the house of Updegraff put in an appearance on Tuesday (June 11th, 1878) of last week."[1]
